Ansel Adams took his famous Snake River image here, well, probably a little bit to the left of where I was standing. The trees have grown up since then, and his view is no longer available.
Most people chose to go to other places for sunrises, and come here for afternoon shots like Ansel Adam. I wanted to try this place out during sunrise. The air is still heavily polluted with all the controlled burns going on, but the autumn colors have set in, and the pollution gave the sky this yellowish hue that you normally don’t see. I love all the ground fogs down in the valley. It gives the image a little bit of that eerie feeling.
